Sunday was my birthday, but since Sunday IS Sunday, we decided to celebrate it on Friday. I was so lucky to have a bunch of awesome people come out to Von Rothenburgs to drink to another year of my life.

In order to thank everyone for coming out, I wanted to make a tribute video that documented the night and fun we had. Between the two cameras, we probably had over 50 video clips which I was able to edit together and throw in some background music. The song I selected was “Desperately Wanting” by Better than Ezra. Why’d I pick that song? No other reason than the song rocks and I’ve been listening to it a ton recently.

Well, here’s where the problems begin.

After editing everything together, the resulting MPG file was over 600mb. That in itself took over five hours, YES 5 HOURS, to upload to YouTube. After my upload finished, I was greeted with an email saying my audio had been muted due to copyrighted third party content. Well shit.

I read a bunch of blog posts and forums on how to get around this problem and I think I’m going to add some reverb to the audio track and see if that solves the issue. If I figure it out, I’ll let you know what works.

Now if only there was away to get around this five hour upload time…
