**Note** you can use any video as your featured video. You’re not restricted to only videos you’ve uploaded.

After logging in, click the account button in the upper right corner.

Once your account page has loaded, you’re given some options in a blue box. Under the more category, click edit channel.

After the page loads, you’ll be on the “edit channel info” page. You’ll now want to click on “channel design” on the left side of the page.

Once in the “channel design” page, you’ll see a section called “layout properties”.  You’ll want to check the box that says “Featured Video” and then click the second radio button with the words “Video URL”.  Then in box directly under “URL:” put the link to the video you want to use as your featured video.

When linking to your video make sure you use the link URL and not the embed URL.

Opening day is always a fun day to cheer on the Brew Crew – especially when they win. This year was no different.

The temperature was hovering right around 40 degrees and the gusts of wind were almost sometimes unbearable, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t have a great time.

This is actually the first year in a while where I didn’t buy my own season ticket package, but I was getting fed up with the ticket brokers. Oh well, looks like I’ll have to bum tickets off my buddies this season.

After disputing the claim against me, YouTube re-enabled the audio track for my thank you video to all those who attended my 24th birthday party. I ended up citing a copyright act from 1976 claiming fair use and all was good.

Honestly though, I wouldn’t mind YouTube adding an advertisement on my video to purchase either the song or cd because:

1. I loved the song enough to buy it
2. I think others would buy it too if given an easy opportunity

Sunday was my birthday, but since Sunday IS Sunday, we decided to celebrate it on Friday. I was so lucky to have a bunch of awesome people come out to Von Rothenburgs to drink to another year of my life.

In order to thank everyone for coming out, I wanted to make a tribute video that documented the night and fun we had. Between the two cameras, we probably had over 50 video clips which I was able to edit together and throw in some background music. The song I selected was “Desperately Wanting” by Better than Ezra. Why’d I pick that song? No other reason than the song rocks and I’ve been listening to it a ton recently.

Well, here’s where the problems begin.

After editing everything together, the resulting MPG file was over 600mb. That in itself took over five hours, YES 5 HOURS, to upload to YouTube. After my upload finished, I was greeted with an email saying my audio had been muted due to copyrighted third party content. Well shit.

I read a bunch of blog posts and forums on how to get around this problem and I think I’m going to add some reverb to the audio track and see if that solves the issue. If I figure it out, I’ll let you know what works.

Now if only there was away to get around this five hour upload time…
